The official website for the anime adaptation of Sui Ishida's suspense horror manga Tokyo Ghoul(Toukyou Kushu) has released its second PV this Thursday. The anime is scheduled to premiere on July 3. 

The anime is directed by Shuhei Morita, the Oscar-nominated director of the "Possessions" ("Tsukumo") short, with character designs by Kazuhiro Miwa (animation director on Heroman, Gosick) and scripts by playwright/stage director Chuji Mikasano. The anime is produced by Pierrot.

 

Tokyo Ghoul(Toukyou Kushu) is a suspense horror manga written and illustrated by Sui Ishida and was launched in Weekly Young Jump in 2011.

The dark fantasy story is set in Tokyo, which is haunted by mysterious "ghouls" who are devouring humans. People are gripped by the fear of these ghouls whose identities are masked in mystery. Ken Kaneki, an ordinary college student who receives organ donations from a "Ghoul" after he is nearly killed. Kaneki soon realizes he is now half-human and half-ghoul. Ghouls are creatures that look human but need to eat human flesh to survive. Then he encounters Rize, a girl who is an avid reader like him, at the café he frequents…
